OUR FOUNDER, EDDIE, WAS AN OUTDOOR GUIDE. He dedicated his life to making gear that got people outside. A century later, we continue working with guides and building gear equal to any destination. Because like Eddie, we believe that life is better outdoors, where it’s wild, beautiful, and meant to be shared. And when we put our name on a product, what we’re really saying is, go live your adventure. Love the jacket. The sleeves are a little snug for layering, so ordered a size up(xl). I think that will help. Have not worn it in the cold yet but it seems like it will keep me warm.Bought this on prime day, so although it’s been super hot, I did try it on and it is cute! I wanted something that was a bit longer to cover my bottom and this will do it. It fits perfectly and seems to be really well made.Excellence does still exist. I am relieved and pleased... this coat actually exceeds my expectations in every way except I wish the pockets were a little bigger, but they're not horrible, I just have large hands and a large new phone. Can still zip phone in pocket, but barely. Overall, I love this thing! To compare warmth -- my first parka when I moved to Cleveland after college was an Eddie Bauer. Wore it for 16 years! Next one was Lands End (both down fill and comfort rated to -20). Wore it for 10 yrs and it's still functional, just looking shabby because sometimes I work outdoors. I thought they were quite warm, used a fleece underneath in weather under 20 degrees. THIS new EB one, though, is WARMER!!! How is this possible? New tech? I had several long walks in 15 degree weather and with a great scarf and hat under the hood I didn't even feel cold. At all. I can't believe how warm I am without the coat being too bulky = how perfectly tailored the fit is. This coat has the most flattering fit I can imagine in a parka. I'm 5'8" 140 and the Medium shows curves but still leaves room for sweater underneath. The "Nordic Blue" is a gorgeous shade of ocean blue with a hint of green in the hue... but I will note that it is a very shiny fabric. I am well into middle age, so at first I was skeptical if I could pull of the look. I have gotten used to the shininess, and now confess I enjoy the "glam." But if you're looking for something neutral and unobtrusive, then I'd suggest trying one of the non-shiny fabrics instead. And yes, the lining of the cuffs, pockets and the back is some super-soft wizardry... more like those new baby blankets than fleece. Kinda luxurious. Though I am on the edge of needing "tall" sizes and often do order in that category, I didn't with this coat because it was already designed longer than my old parkas. The regular works well for me. I love being outdoors all seasons, but realize that reaching the point of a shivering chill can stress me out. Now that it's the end of winter, I'm realizing I never shivered this year, no stress being in the cold. Just cozy and comfy. And grateful to the designers.Beautiful Coat, love the fabric and look. Not shiny as other puffer jackets are, so was pleasantly surprized! I usually wear between a L and XL in clothing. Decided to go for the XL and fits perfectly, so follow the size chart and you won't go wrong. LOVE it! Can't leave a review on how warm the jacket will be in cold weather but according to the reviews, it will serve me very well in cold weather.love the looks, fit and warmth.I'm not the type of person to spend a significant amount of money on anything. However, I work at a university and spend quite a bit of time walking across campus. For over two years, I've been saying I needed a warmer, longer winter coat that could hold up to the chilly weather we deal with here. After a bit of research, I stumbled across this coat that was, in my opinion, quite a bit of money but not top of the line and outrageous like some of the other brands out there.Once the coat arrived, I wore it on campus and immediately fell in love. It was like wearing a blanket and being snuggly warm. The only part of my body that remains cold anymore when I'm walking are below my knees to my ankels - basically where my coat doesn't fall and my boots don't cover. I am petite, pear shaped, and tend to wear smalls in the top and a medium/size 6-8 bottom. I ordered a medium coat to have a bit extra room for winter wear. The coat fits great - though I would have expected more room in the hip area - it's a bit snug for being a medium but it does fit (I can zip it while standing, not when sitting though). The soft cuffs are wonderful and I enjoy the pocket near the chest area to keep my phone in while walking - the side pockets also hold my gloves nicely (not all coats do). I've read reviews about the buttoned hood coming off easily but I have not had any experience with that. The only other reason I didn't give the coat a 5 star rating is because this is a high collar coat and I'm not used to that - the bulk of the collar gets in the way a little bit. It's not horrible if you don't zip up all the way or if you wear a scarf with the coat to keep it down a little. (I don't always need the high collar zipped) On the days it's frigid and freezing, though, the high collar is awesome. Just wish there was a way to combat it when you don't always need it.I really love this coat. It looks nice and it’s lined in a few key places with a suuuuper soft, cozy fleece material - this includes the pockets, making the pockets almost as warm as gloves to put your hands into. It’s not really made for sub-zero temps; not a coat that you schvitz in no matter how cold it is. Even 40 degrees still feels cold unless you’re dressed warmly underneath. But that also means that I can duck into a store and not immediately feel like I’m going to pass out from being overheated. My only negative is my own fault so I didn’t take off points. I ordered a petite small bc that’s what I am in clothes and I didn’t want the coat to be totally shapeless; if I could go back I’d probably order a regular small or maybe a petite medium. It’s just a little tight in the neck/chest area so there isn’t really room for a scarf unless I keep the top open, and zippering it all the way closed isn’t completely comfortable.I wear 8-10, and ordered a small. It’s far too big. Even with layers underneath there is still room. It’s also not as stylish as they say- looks big and clumsy. Too many outside pockets and details spoil a potentially sleek look. It’s also not as warm as North Face. I do regret buying this.Lovely and warm. Looks great on too. I am a size 10 and the Medium fits perfect. Love the soft lining on the cuffs too.
